DIY Passport Photo on 6x4 prints


Passport photo from the shops and booths are not that cheap. Cost can be up to $20AUD for a set in some places. Just about everyone has a Digital Camera and Computer, you can do it yourself for under 20c.

All you need is a Digital Camera to take your portrait.


Australian Photograph Guideline Please read the guide from the Australian Government about acceptable photo.

& The following Software


Its a chinese software but has a English version and it is free and does other print out ( such as Calendars, Cards )

Installation is straight forward, Run the executable and accept defaults.

launch Program Photocap, click on Portrait



Then select Standard 6x4

6x4 portraits

Then you will see the following



Then you need to load your portrait. Click on Load Photo

Load image


Once its loaded, Centre your photo to fill the sillouette.


align photo


Once your happy, it should look like this


Portraits alighned


Now click on "File > save as" Name your image , then click OK




Now save your Image to thumb drive and take it to print for under 20cents.
